[Class 53] In an accumulator venting device the gases pass through an aperture d, and after raising a plunger c against the action of a spring e pass through passages h to an annular recess g around the outside of the device. This recess g is normally closed by 'a steel spring ring i which can be displaced slightly by the pressure of the escaping gases. In order to prevent it rotating one end may be turned in, Fig. 2 (not shown), so as to be held in one of the passages h.
