501,564. Powder applicator nozzles. SCOTT & BROWNE. May 12, 1938, No. 14192. Convention date, May 12,1937. [Class 81 (ii)] ' [Also in Group XVII] A device for applying powder to cavities of the body comprises an air blower such as a conventional bulb, a'stem 11, Fig. 2, leading from the bulb to a head which is insertable in the cavity and comprises two parts 14, 16 connected together and enclosing a cartridge 22 of powder.. The latter is formed of a tube of cardboard &c. with a wrapper 24, Fig. 7, which is tucked into the ends of the tube so as to close the latter. The head is formed with a projection 34 which, as the two parts of the head are screwed together, presses on and forces open one end of the cartridge, and the closure at the other end of the cartridge is forced into a space 44 adjacent the discharge orifice by pressure of the powder when the device is operated. In a modified head. the outer end of the cartridge is forced open by a projection similar to the projection 34.
