501,194. Antioxidant for rubber. FAWCETT, E. W., and IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. June 18, 1937, No. 17055. Drawings to Specification. [Class 70] [Also in Groups III and IV] Rubber is preserved against ageing by atmospheric oxidation by adding a proportion of an antioxidant concentrate obtained by highvacuum, preferably short-path distillation of a triglyceride oil or fat containing natural antioxidants. Oils such as River Plate linseed oil, crude Egyptian cotton seed oil and soya bean oil are suitable for high vacuum shortpath distillation to provide such concentrates, the first fractions being rich in natural antioxidants. British Specifications 438,056 and 448,800, [both in Group III], and French Specification 770,422 are referred to.
