[Class 40 (iii)] A blocking-oscillator valve 15 is so connected directly to the detector 11 of a receiver that the synchronizing signals are separated from the picture signals, which modulate the carrier in the opposite direction, and the synchronising signals are converted to equal impulses. The oscillator 15 is blocked by the line impulse and unblocks only at the end of the subsequent line period.
