500,842. Television transmitters. HAZELTINE CORPORATION. April 22, 1938, No. 12079. Convention date, May 27, 1937. [Class 40 (iii)] Picture signals are developed in the cathode ray tube 11 without any direct-current components and are applied to the input of valve 29 whose bias is controlled by cell 23, viewing the whole scene, to add the direct current components; pulses from 14 are also applied to the suppressor grid of valve 29 to render it nonconducting during fly-back periods, so that gapped picture signals comprising directcurrent components occur at the output of valve 29. A main generator 20 controls the scanning oscillators 12, 13, the generator 14 and the synchronizing signal generator 17. The impulses from 14 are preferably applied to the control-grid of the cathode ray tube 11 to wipe out the return lines. Synchronizing signals from 17 are added to the signal from valve 29 at 30, the mixed signal then being modulated onto a carrier for transmission. Specification 450,675 is referred to.
