Abstract
498,971. Shoots for delivering sacks &c. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP STOOM - MEELFABRIEK HOLLAND. April 4, 1938, No. 10292. Convention date, April 12, 1937. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group XIX] A device for counting filled sacks or similar loads, having an inclined slideway 8 with a detaining and conveying device for feeding the loads at regular intervals to a counting device 11, is characterized in that the detaining and conveying device comprises a horizontallymounted drum 5 rotated through a self-braking transmission 3, and flattened over a portion 6 of its surface so as to detain and convey the loads. An electric motor 2 drives the drum 5 at constant speed through worm gearing. The cut-away portion of the drum is provided with ribs 7 which grip the loads and deposit them on a conveyer belt 9, gravity-operated flaps 12, 14, preventing the passage of more than one at a time. As each load passes over the flap 11, switches 20, 21, 22, are simultaneously reversed whereby a counting device 23 is operated. If the flap 11 remains depressed after a certain length of time (e.g. when loads have accumulated on the lower slideway) a time switch 24 operates to reverse a switch in a relay 25 and interrupt the energizing circuit of a magnetic switch 17, whereupon the whole installation is stopped and signal lamps 27 are illuminated. Re-starting is accomplished by the depression of a button 28.
