Abstract

498,806. Positioning blanks for moulding. WIENAND, H. June 23, 1938, No. 18700. [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group VI] In the process of moulding teeth comprising superimposed wedge-shaped blanks a foundation wedge is premoulded, by means of an auxiliary moulding device, against a detachable carrier by which the wedge is lifted off the moulding device and placed in a tooth mould in a moulding plate. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 1 and 2 a projection 3 of determined dimensions is formed on a plate 2 fixed to carrier plate 1. A wedge-shaped blank 4, Fig. 2, is built up on the projection against a block 7, provided with a carrying handle 8, which is placed in position against a stop 6 and serves as a gauge in forming the blank. The block 7 with the attached blank is removed and placed against a guide plate 12 so that the blank is in position to be pressed into a mould 11 in which it is given the shape of the tooth. The auxiliary moulding device may be formed with a series of projections 30 as shown in Fig. 7, a carrier 33 being employed for transferring a number of blanks together to a moulding plate having a corresponding number of recesses.
