[Class 105] [Also in Group XXXVII] At positions of route divergence on miniature diagram panels, multi-position manual switches in each of their different settings complete control circuits for setting up a route from such position over a number of track points and clearing the signals. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 2 a single multi-position switch 4 provided at each position of route divergence sets up all the routes starting therefrom. An indicator disc presents the route indication at an aperture 5 in the panel and the signal indication is given by lamps 6, the green lamp being lit when a multi-aspect signal is at any aspect other than stop. The switch shown in Fig. 3 comprises a knife-switch section and a spring-contacts section. The spring contacts 28 are opened by cam fingers 27 carried on a rotatable spindle 17. The knife-switch contacts 11/16 are closed by depressing the head 8 of a sleeve member 9 after movement to the required angular position, such angular movement also being given to the spindle 17 by a pin 19 extending through a longitudinal slot 18 in the sleeve 9. The pin 19 also actuates the indicator disc 7 to present an indication at the aperture 42. A stud 12 on the hub of the knife switch enters a hole 14 to prevent the turning of the switch while depressed. The spring- contacts section may serve for the normally closed contacts of the route-setting apparatus described in Specification 496,495 and the knife-switch section for the contacts closed at " reverse." It will be seen that the spring contacts are opened prior to the closure of the knife switches. Both sets of contacts may however be operated by the axial movement. A spring click arm 21 engages recesses 22 at each angular position.
