Abstract
497,438. Trouser stretchers. HUMFREY, J. C. W. June 24, 1937, No. 17637. [Class 141] Apparatus for pressing and stretching trousers comprises flexible members A<1>, A2, A3, A<4> secured to a rigid central cross member C<1>, C2, having a curved surface to which the flexible members are tangential the trousers being clamped between the ends of the flexible members and cross pieces E<1>, E<2>, and the flexible members bent towards each other so that the trousers are on the convex surfaces, and secured together by a fastening J, K. The central cross member consists of two parts C<1>, C<2>, hinged together at D<1>, D2, which are adapted to abut, Fig. 3, when the flexible members are folded towards each other. The cross pieces E<1>, E<2>, are tapered at the ends to engage under correspondingly tapered channel members H<1> ... H<4> secured to the ends of the flexible members. In a modification, the cross pieces E<1>, E<2>, are secured to the ends of the flexible members by screws, cams, &c.
