Abstract
496,990. Plate &c. racks. BOWMAN, E. J. May 23, 1938, No. 15248. [Class 28 (ii)] A draining-rack for plates, dishes, &c. has a number of horizontal rods provided with spaced rubber fingers 24, 25, the arrangement being such that each plate is supported around its circumference between fingers on one bar, and between pairs of fingers on two bars at a lower level. As shown, the bars are carried on a tubular frame adapted to be suspended on a wall, certain of the bars having fingers, formed as shown in Fig. 5, for co-operating with a lower pair of bars and with an upper bar. The bars arranged intermediate the highest and lowest bars may be arranged at different levels to accommodate plates of various sizes, and drainage channels leading to an outlet 44 may be provided. A perforated cover having projections 37 for supporting large dishes against the wall is provided. The devices may be enclosed in a cabinet suspended from a wall and having a flexible roll-top front and a heating device. Shelves 30, 31, and hooks 45 for cups, also are provided.
