Abstract

564,694. Dish-washing apparatus. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 31, 1943, No. 14168. Convention date, Sept. 1, 1942. [Class 138 (i)] An overflow for a dish-washing apparatus of the kind in which liquid is circulated in a vat fitted with racks for holding the dishes &c., is constructed of an inclined tube 24 extending upwardly into the vat from the bottom wall 12 of the casing and formed with a liquid entrance 29 arranged above the normal liquid level 25a. One side of the tube 24 extends above the liquid entrance, and to prevent the sprayed liquid from entering the tube it is connected with or formed integral with a second cylindrical member 26 arranged to form a crescentshaped channel 27 with the tube 24 and provided with a lower channel 28 which permits passage of liquid into the channel 27. The members 24, 26 may be cast integral with one another from a phenol condensation product. A further overflow shell 37 with an aperture 39 is preferably detachably connected to the cylinder 26, and a cover 30 is secured over the three members 24, 26, 37 by means of a screw 33 and a nut 36 which engages an overflow base bracket 34 formed with a basin 42 for collecting small amounts of overflow. The device is mounted on a thick base 31 fitted with a gasket 32.
