496,809. Buttons. A.B.A. SPECIALITIES CO., Inc. March 6, 1937, No. 6660. Convention date, March 7, 1936. [Class 43] A button with a slot 9 in the back for the connection of a fastening tag 2 having a rigid head 4 of unequal dimensions but of the same width as the tag has a resilient abutment or abutments such as a spring tongue 12 to retain the head after it has been passed through or behind the slot. The spring tongues may be at one or both ends of the slot. The edges of the slot itself may be springy. Several different forms are shown. A flexible strip having a button fastener as described forms a tufting device for mattresses. Specification 410,180, [Group XIV], is referred to.
