Abstract
496,402. Tinning-apparatus. CAMPBELL, SIR J., CHALMERS, B., and HOARE, W. E. June 4, 1937, No. 15512. [Class 82 (ii)] Apparatus for tinning metals by dipping contains in the grease pot or other part from which the coated metal finally issues a set of finishing rolls the last pair only of which are formed of or surfaced with material which is not wetted by molten tin and to which molten tin will therefore not adhere. In one embodiment the metal b to be coated passes through rollers h and guides i. The last pair of rollers k only is formed or surfaced with a material not wetted by molten tin, for example, chromium plating, stainless steel, glass or resin.
