494,217. Double glazing. LHOTE, C. L. R. Jan. 11, 1938, No. 868. Convention date, Jan. 25, 1937. [Class 20 (iii)] A window sash or other glazed structure of the kind having one or two additional panes applied to its faces by means of grooved supporting beads 4 removably secured to one or both faces of the sash by means of shaped retainers 6, is characterized in that angle-pieces are provided to retain the glass at the corners, having tapered ends 8 joined to the longitudinal beads and retained by the protruding ends of the retainers 6. The space between the frames may have drying materials, such as calcium chloride, in hollow rails and electric heating means. At the junctions of sash bars, the corner-pieces may be combined to form a T-shaped member 80. Panes of different materials and weights may be used to suppress transmission of noise.
