Abstract

494,200. Projectile fuzes. JUNGHANS, H., and JUNGHANS AKT.-GES., GEB. Aug. 30, 1937, No. 23728. [Class 9 (i)] Relates to a casing for mechanical time fuzes for projectiles of the kind which includes two parts 1, 6 which, for the purpose of setting the fuze, are connected so as to be relatively rotatable, the contiguous walls of said parts being formed with annular grooves which register with one another and which are adapted to receive segmental connecting members. According to the invention, the connecting members consist of steel leaf springs 2 which are mounted by screws 3 in an annular groove 8 in the portion 1 in such a manner that their free ends 4 engage in an annular groove 5 in the upper casing portion 6. Radially disposed adjustable pressure screws 7 provided in the portion 1 are adapted to bear against the free ends 4 of the springs. According to a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown) each spring 2 is secured to the casing portion 1 at its centre so that both the free ends of the spring can be influenced by radially disposed screws 7.
