Abstract

492,119. Rectilinear-motion bearings. DECKEL, F. July 31, 1937, No. 21254. Convention date, Aug. 1, 1936. [Class 12 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] In a copying or engraving machine the sliding parts are supported on roller bearings in which alternate rollers are spaced close together and are inclined in opposite directions and engage V-shaped grooves in the co-operating surfaces of the slides. The slides 3, 6 and 8 are mounted on roller bearings comprising rollers 22 of a diameter greater than their length and engaging V-shaped grooves in the guide bars 21. The axes of alternate rollers are inclined at rightangles, as shown in Fig. 5, and they are spaced by a cage 23 having slots shaped to render faulty introduction of the rollers readily discernible or impossible. The rollers are supported by the cage without the use of axles.
