Abstract

492,046. Hydroplanes. SPURR, E. March 18, 1937, No. 7907. [Class 113 (ii)] The planing element of a hydroplane is connected to the hull by links so that it can move against the action of shock-absorbing devices. The planing member 6 is connected by the hull by links 8, cushioning springs 19 being inserted. In a modification, the springs 19 are replaced by torsional devices in the pivots of the links. The links 8 may be of equal or unequal lengths. Specifications 485,572 and 488,440 are referred to.
