492,041. Audible signalling-apparatus. LUCAS, Ltd., J., HARRIS, T. A., and TAYLOR, H. C. March 13, 1937, No. 7456. [Class 118 (ii)] In an electrically operated sound-producing apparatus, such as a motor-car horn, the exciting winding is in two parts a, b connected in series with an interrupter f and the contact g of a switch e, the other contact h being connected to a tapping c on the winding in order that a loud or soft signal may be given. In a modification, Fig. 2, a relay i is used to close the contacts j, k when giving a loud signal. In a further modification, two horns are connected in parallel with the taps taken to two sets of contacts closed by the relay.
