Abstract

491,377. Obstruction - removers for vehicles. BUCHAN, A., and STEWART, A. Feb. 23, 1937, No. 5379. [Class 103 (ii)] An obstruction - remover of the kind comprising rollers mounted in a frame carried by and projecting from the vehicle, comprises top and bottom members 9, 10 of arcuate or V-shape, which are secured to the dumb irons 8 by bars 7 and carry rollers 13 projecting through holes 12 in a web plate 11. The web plate may be dispensed with and the members flanged to form a channel member. In a modification, Fig. 5, the rollers are barrel-shaped and are formed in two halves connected by sunk bolts 16. The members 9, 10, may also be mounted at the rear, may be continued back outside the front wheels or may extend completely round the vehicle. The rollers may be rubbercovered. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 7868/01, [Class 103].
