[Class 92 (ii)] A cartridge belt composed of hinged metal sections of the kind described in Specification 460,884, is provided with reinforcing ribs for stiffening the hinge-carrying portions, and with inclined lugs on the cartridgeholding portions 'so that cartridges having projecting rims may be carried in the belt and ejected therethrough. The belt sections may each comprise a part a provided with stiffening ribs b to minimize opening movement of the section owing to belt tension, and formed with the integral hinge portions c. The cartridgeholding portion has thin curved members d which are integral with the part a near the bottom, but which are separated therefrom for the greater part of their length by slots e, the members d being formed integral with bridgepieces f so as to constitute a resilient clip which is practically independent of belt tension. The portions f are extended to provide inclined lugs h and the part a is extended to provide a tongue g with a recess g<2> and projection g<1> so that cartridges having either a groove or a projecting rim may be secured in the clip. The lugs h facilitate the opening of the parts f if a cartridge having a projecting rim is to be forced through the clip. In a modification, the cartridge-holding clip d<1>, Fig. 4, is formed separately from the belt section a and is provided with a turned-over lug i which hooks on the part a between the hinge parts c to assemble the cartridge clip with the belt section.
