Abstract
489,125. Photographic view finders; reflex cameras. KILBURN, B. E. D. (Leitz Ges., E.) April 6, 1937, No. 9810. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Nov. 22, 1937.] [Class 98 (i)] A direct-vision finder comprises a movable reflex mirror, which reflects the image formed by the camera objective to a viewing system consisting of an eyepiece close to the camera, reflecting surfaces which deflect the rays round a closed figure having two sides intersecting at right-angles, and an objective situated in the part of the ray-path forming the closed figure. The construction shown is adapted to be interposed between the body B and lens B<1> of a camera to convert it to reflex type. A<1> is the movable reflex mirror reflecting the image from the lens B<1> to a ground glass screen C. The rays from this image pass through a collecting lens F to a prism reflector G which reflects them through an objective D to a prism reflector H which in turn reflects them to the eyepiece E. The objective D may be moved to the dotted position, thereby altering the magnification, so that the image may be viewed either as a whole, or in part at increased magnification for sharp focusing.
