Abstract
488,737. Handle-bars. PARKES, J., and SUN CYCLE & FITTINGS CO., Ltd. March 9, 1937, No. 6859. [Class 136 (iii)] In a clip for mounting the handle-bars of cycles, of the type comprising a fixed member rigid with the steering-stem and a movable member hinged to the rigid member, the rigid member, extended from the head of the steering-stem, is formed on its underside adjacent the stem with a housing or recess for a pivot pin for the hinged member, the handlebar being clamped between the pivot and the outer ends of the members, which are adapted to be secured together by a bolt &c. An upper rigid member a is provided at one end with a socket a<1>, which is secured to the upper end of the stem c. The member a is formed on its underside with a housing or recess a<2>, in which is mounted a pivot pin e engaging an apertured ear or lug b<2> on the lower member b. The handle-bar d is retained in the clip by a bolt f passing through perforated lugs a<3>, b3 on the outer ends of the members a, b.
