[Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XXXVIII] To differentiate in road-traffic signalling apparatus, between fast and slow vehicles, the member operated, e.g. pneumatically, from the road pad is connected resiliently with a slow-to-move contact-maker. Thus, in the type of contact box described in Specification 415,200, [Group XXXVIII], and as shown, the pressure-operated plate 7 fixed at 16 is connected by a spring 24 with a lever 23 pivoted centrally and provided at each end with a weight 26. If the plate is operated by a quickly-moving vehicle, no appreciable displacement of the lever results, but if the operation is prolonged due to the vehicle moving slowly, the lever rocks sufficiently to close a circuit either by ordinary contact abutment or by a mercury switch carried by the lever.
