Abstract
487,952. Piston extrusion apparatus. KUBIK, A. Jan. 11, 1937, Nos. 837 and 838. Convention dates, Jan. 10, 1936 and April 27, 1936. [Class 102 (ii)] In apparatus for dispensing soap &c. comprising a container 1 with a piston 12 advanced by a screw 52 turned by a knob 55, the piston is made of flexible material, and the nut 10 is formed in halves, which are riveted to the piston. The nut is held in engagement with the screw by a garter spring 17, and can be released by flexing the piston. The container is refilled from a cartridge which is inserted in the end of the container, the contents being pushed into the container by a piston. The discharge orifice 46 is controlled by a rotary valve 50, having notches which are engaged by a pin 53 carried by the screw 52. The valve has arms which cover the orifice 46 in certain positions of the valve. The orifice is flared, as shown. The knob 55 carries a spring-pressed detent 57, which engages recesses in the cover in positions corresponding to closure of the orifice 46. The detent 57 is formed bevelled, as shown, in order to prevent reverse rotation. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes a modification in which the orifice 46 is in the side of the container, and the valve 50 has axial lugs which cover the orifice in certain positions of the valve. The cover of the container may be formed integral with wall brackets 5, the container being secured to the cover by screws 18. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
