Abstract
487,157. Projection screens. BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., and BAIRD, J. L. Dec. 15, 1936, No. 34376. [Class 97 (i)] A projection screen is formed of intermeshed rods or fibres of transparent material which will pass light without refraction, except at its boundary, and substantially without scattering or optical absorption ; the screen may be rendered reflecting, and may be combined with an additional screen of translucent or transparent material. The fibres may be flexible threads of glass formed by extrusion, and may be interlooped by a knitting process, or may be woven, the warp and weft fibres being identical. The screen may be silvered on one side, or may be used with an additional screen of gelatin, glass, or the like, either in close proximity to it on either side, or applied to it as a coating. The additional screen may have a surface which is coarsened to render it dispersive, and may be interposed between the woven &c. screen and a reflecting layer.
