Abstract

486,125. Re -treading tyres. FIT, Ltd., and HILL, J. J. Dec. 7, 1936, No. 33563. [Classes 70 and 87 (ii)] The middle or tread mould section A of apparatus for moulding or re-treading tyres is heated and the side mould sections B, C are insulated from the section A, or are made of insulating material, so that heat does not pass to them from the middle section. The sections B, C have their inner faces inclined, fit closely against the section A, and have brackets F for supporting transverse bars E provided with screws G for engaging the tyre rim or base. The middle section is heated by electric current or by a gas burner controlled by a thermostat.
