[Class 27] [Also in Group XVII] A receptacle for receiving coins and issuing acknowledgments for charitable and other purposes comprises two elongated strips of stout paper, cardboard or like material, the bottom strip a, Fig. 3, having its edges a<1> folded over and a tab a<3> partly punched out. The top end a<4> of the strip is folded back and the bottom end of one of the side edges a<1> is formed with a projection or abutment a<2>. The top strip b, Fig. 5, has turned over edges b<1> and is formed with a gap b<2> at its top end. The acknowledgments, receipts, pictures, &c. are in the form of a cardboard strip c, Fig. 6, having a folded over or otherwise thickened head c<1> stapled to it. The parts are assembled by placing the strip c on the strip a between the edges a<1> as shown in Fig. 10, and then placing the strip b on the strip a with their folded over edges face to face, the assembly being fixed by wire staples d. passing through the edges a<1>, b<1>. The whole is covered by a paper wrapping e bearing instructions, advertisements &c. Pennies are inserted at one end where the gap b<2> and tab a<3> are located, the gap allowing the insertion and the tab preventing the withdrawal of the pennies. The coins push out the strip c through the lower end of the receptacle so that a portion can be torn off as a receipt. When the receptacle is full, the head c<1> engages the abutment a<2> to close the issuing end, and a gummed strip is provided to close the insertion end.
