Abstract

485,340. Lighting fires. SCHOTTKY, W. May 31, 1937, No. 15056. Addition to 384,387. [Class 51 (i)] [Also in Group XI] A fire igniter H, as described in the parent Specification, is provided with a perforated nozzle extension LM to introduce hot air into a mass of fuel to be ignited. The nozzle may be a straight tubular extension of the heater or may branch out as shown. The diameter of the nozzle is continuously reduced and the areas of the perforations are successively increased along the line of flow of the air. The nozzle may be provided with strengthening ribs.
