483,697. Goggles. DEGEA AKT.-GES. (AUERGES.) Nov. 24, 1937, No. 32398. Convention date, Dec. 21, 1936. Drawings to Specification. [Class 97 (i)] Spectacles, with tinted glasses, for protection against strong light incorporate a polarizing filter of the type containing a large number of minute double refracting crystals uniformly orientated. A filter with a glass backing may be mounted in the main frame with the protective glass, or in a subsidiary frame rotatably mounted on the main frame. A filter in the form of a thin foil may be applied to one side of the protective glass or held between two layers of glass, one at least being protective. Layers of tinted celluloid &c. may replace glass.
