483,639. Oven shelves. RADIATION, Ltd., YATES, H. J., HARTLEY, H., and LAKE, F. Aug. 22, 1936, No. 23146. [Class 126] The shelf of a gas oven comprises a grid a, b and a narrow gas-deflecting plate c at or near one end or either or each side of the main part of the grid, the plate being so arranged or constructed that when a food container is situated on the shelf over the plate, a shallow air space is provided between the plate and container. In the form shown, the plates c and the bars b of the grid are secured to the upper side of the rectangular frame a of the grid. Each plate c is in the form of a shallow channel. In another form, the plate c, which is at the back, is attached to the underside of the grid, and has an upwardly extending flange at the back to prevent food from projecting back beyond the shelf. The plate or plates c may be between the upper and lower surfaces of the grid bars. Specification 135,144, [Class 126], is referred to.
