483,385. Television. TRAUB, E. Oct. 20, 1936, No. 28507. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (iii)] A television receiver incorporates a light cell in which a medium is traversed by modulated mechanical waves, and a moving and a stationary scanning device are employed in such a way as to project one or more lines or the complete picture simultaneously. The light cell is preferably large enough to include all the elements of a complete picture which elements are moving through the cell in a direction away from the piezo-electric crystal. The image of these moving elements is rendered stationary by a rotating mirror drum and the various lines of the picture are selected by an echelon scanning device and projected into their correct positions on the screen. As the second picture begins to pass through the apparatus the next portion of the mirror drum projects its commencing lines into their correct positions as the corresponding lines of the previous picture disappear. The whole picture is therefore projected simultaneously and changes element by element. Specification 439,236 is referred to.
