Abstract

397,648. Television. COOPER, H. J., Birchlea, Kiln Road, Thundersley, Essex. July 5, 1932, No. 18927. [Class 40 (iii).] In television the image is analysed or reproduced by scanning apparatus comprising an opaque disc with elongated slots B .. E arranged at different angles relative to the direction of rotation. Each slot traverses the entire image field, but from a different angle of approach. The slotted disc may be replaced by a drum A, Fig. 3, with mirrors B .. E.. arranged tangentially and at different angles relative to the direction of rotation of the points at which the mirrors are supported on the drum. Light from a constant or variable source F is reflected by the mirrors so that each mirror scans the entire field. The picture or image may be divided into a number of zones each of which is associated with a series of slots or mirrors.
