Abstract

480,960. Dough-moulding machines. HARBER, L. S., and BAKER PERKINS, Ltd. Sept. 2, 1936, No. 24012. [Class 87 (ii)] A machine for moulding or handing-up dough such as of the type having a rotary cone 3 is provided with one or more nozzles 7, 10 communicating as by pipes 8, 12 with a centrifugal fan 1 or other air supply and adapted to direct air to dry surfaces at the intake end of the helical trough 4 and the outlet guideway 11. Dusting with flour to prevent the dough sticking is thus rendered unnecessary. The dough is delivered to the trough 4 by a conveyer which is also dried by the nozzle 7. The nozzle 10 may be fixed to the cone cap 5. The pipe 12 communicates with a hollow column 12b and a pipe 12a leading to the fan 1. Air jets may also be provided along the trough 4. The air may be heated as by an electric resistance in the fan discharge. Specification 435,166 is referred to.
