Abstract
480,942. Shower baths. JUNKERS & CO., GES. Oct. 12, 1937, No. 27717. Convention date, Oct. 12, 1936. Addition to 459,502. [Class 26] In a shower bath device according to the parent Specification the upcast pipe mounted on the water heater or on the wall is integral or forms a structural unit with the curved tube serving. to guide the hose and fix the nozzle. A reversing cock 11, Fig. 1, directs water from the heater 10 to a discharge pipe 12 or an upcast pipe 13, and from the latter, through an angular member 14, to the hose 16 and spray nozzle 20. The curved guide-tube 19 for the hose is carried by a capped extension 17 of the upcast pipe. The mouth of the pipe 19 is flared to accommodate the nozzle 20, and the mouth of the member 14 is flared to avoid buckling of the hose. In a modification the curved tube 19 forms a direct extension to the pipe 13, and is slotted on the underside of the curve to permit a loop of the hose to hang down. The ends of the slot are flared to prevent damage to the hose. The mouth of the tube is formed as a ball joint to permit adjustment of the nozzle. Alternatively a flared slot may be provided in the lower part of the upcast pipe. In a further modification a rotatable disc 24, Fig. 4, supplied with water along its axis, is mounted between the pipe 13 and tube 19, or on either the pipe 13 and tube 19, and to it is coupled the hose 16. The hose can be unwound by pulling the nozzle and is rewound by a spring when a catch is released.
