Abstract
480,251. Colour photography. TRUECOLOUR FILM, Ltd., and DOLGORUKI, E. SANDERS-. Aug. 14, 1936, No. 22376. [Class 98 (ii)] A multicolour photographic master record from which natural colour photographic prints may be made by printing is obtained by exposing material having three emulsion layers on one, two, or three supports used in superposition and sensitive to different spectral regions, and developing and colouring the latent images to produce different minus colour images of a negative character in each of the layers, which images in at least two of the layers are non-complementary to the colour sensation recorded therein and each primary colour of the original is recorded in one layer only. As shown, the master material N has three superposed layers sensitive to blue, green, and red respectively. The blue, green and red areas of the colour chart A are recorded one in each layer, and are coloured blue-green, magenta and yellow respectively, the material N being developed without reversal. The master N is printed on to similar material P, and the images in the three layers are coloured similarly. The blue-green and magenta images corresponding to the blue area give blue by subtraction, the blue-green and yellow images give green, and the magenta and yellow images give yellow. Modifications are described in which blue, red, green sensitive masters are used in conjunction with blue, green, red sensitive copies, in which the masters may be coloured blue-green, yellow and magenta, magenta, blue-green, and yellow, and magenta, yellow and blue-green, and in which the copies are coloured blue-green, magenta and yellow, and blue-green, yellow and magenta. The images may be coloured by colour development or by the processes described in Specification 405,090. The film may have clear colloid separating layers or dyed colloid filter layers or varnish layers. Specification 447,092 also is referred to.
