Abstract

480,238. Spectacles. PEARSON, R. M. Oct. 1, 1937, Nos. 26666 and 32111. [Class 97 (i)] In spectacles in which each side arm extends from a point in the top of its associated lens carrier so that the forward ends of the sides lie above the eye level, the arms are made rigid with the lens carriers, without hinges. As shown, the frame is made of thermoplastic material and the sides 4 are integral with the rims 1 and join the rims at points in their upper edges which are spaced in from the outer extremities of the rims. The points of connection preferably lie on the inner surface of the rims. The frame may be reinforced by metallic insertions. Instead of being integral with the rims, the side arms may be formed separately and rigidly attached to the rims.
