Abstract

479,500. Television. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE. Aug. 4, 1936, No. 21452. Convention date, Aug. 6, 1935. [Class 40 (iii)] Relates to a television transmitter utilizing a moving film in conjunction with a Nipkow disc, in which, for interlaced scanning, the disc is provided with two or more spirals of apertures, and in which the line synchronizing impulses are generated by the passage of the apertures across an abnormally bright or dark marginal line defined by the projection of a knife-edge. According to the invention, a separate adjustable edge is provided for each spiral, in order to correct slight optical or mechanical errors. Specifications 465,184 and 472,160 are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes alternative arrangements in which (1) " the image points are so disposed on the disc that the sectional arc described by the same is constant independently of the distance from the central point." In this case a single straight " starting edge '' is applied to the edge of the image ; (2) the '' slotted rim '' method of producing synchronizing impulses may be used, with non-uniform spacing between the slots. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
