Abstract
478,746. Pianoforte cases. SUPERTONE PIANOS, Ltd., and WILLIAMSON, C. E. July 31, 1936, No. 21204. [Class 88 (ii)] [Also in Group XIV] Pianofortes &c. are provided with a hinged music desk 14 which by a simple lateral or sideways displacement is movable from the position of use to an out of use position at the rear of and covered by a fascia or front panel 11. As shown applied to a piano the keyboard 13 of which is hinged at 20 to fold to a vertical position in front of the front wall 12, the desk comprises a folding parallelogram structure 15, 16, 17 the upper bar 15 of which is secured to the rear side of the fascia 11, which is inclined or curved forwardly leaving a gap between its lower edge and the top of the front wall 12. The ledge or shelf 18 of the desk is hinged so as to be raised into the plane of the desk before this is moved laterally in either direction to the folded position. The keyboard 13 is held by catches in its raised position and may be locked to the fascia.
