[Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XL) Thermionic and like control.-In an arrangement for controlling the current from an A.C. circuit 3 to a load (e.g. a welding circuit 4) comprising a pair of valves 1, 2 connected reversely in parallel, one valve having a grid control means 6, the grid of the other valve is energized from the load circuit by means of a transformer 7. If desired the secondary of the transformer 7 may be lightly loaded by a resistance 10.
