[Class 117] Apparatus for grading tea-leaf &c. comprises a main sieve a which is inclined and is pivoted at its upper end on a shaft d adjustably mounted on a bracket t on a gantry c so as to vary the inclination. The lower end of the sieve is actuated by a multi-point cam i on a rotary shaft j. Supplementary sieves k, l, m are suspended from the underside of the main sieve by hangers k<1>, l<1>, M<1>, and the inclination of these sieves may be varied by providing the hangers with a series of holes k<2>, l<2>, m<2>. The various grades are collected in receptacles n, o, p), q, r. The feed hopper e has an adjustable gate f and is mounted on the top of the gantry c which is of sufficiently light structure to transmit the sieve vibrations to the hopper.
