477,979. Pianofortes; writing-tables; sideboards. JASCHINSKY, O. April 6, 1936, Nos. 10174, 10175, and 10176. Void. Convention dates, April 5, 1935, July 9, 1935, and March 28, 1936. [Class 88 (ii)] [Also in Group XIV] A pianoforte is constructed to be usable also as a writing-table or as a sideboard. By closing the cover 7 for the head of the strings, and the cover 5 for the keys, the device serves as a knee-hole desk with cupboards 1, 2. By swinging central doors 3; 4 forward, the space in front of the pedals 12 is enclosed, and the device serves as a sideboard. When used as a piano, sound escapes through the open cover 7, and also into the cupboards 1, 2 through apertures in the backs thereof. The ledge forming the music rest extends the full length of the cover 5. For tuning, the whole cover 5, 6 may be removed. For repairs, the cupboards 1, 2 may also be removed and the panel 11 dropped.
