477,147. Reamers and taps. AKTIEBOLAGET C. E. JOHANSSON. Sept. 1, 1937, No. 23936. Convention date, Jan. 12. Addition to 365,505. [Class 83 (iii)] A reamer or tap constructed as described in the parent Specification has the shank 1 formed with an axial bore 7 to give access for a screw-driver to a slot 8 in the inner end of the adjusting screw 3 so that the cutters 2 may be collapsed if the tool becomes jammed in a blind hole. The cutters 2 are adjusted and locked by conical surfaces on the screw 3 and on a sleeve 4 which screws on the shank and is guided by cylindrical surfaces 6. A soft washer 5 is inserted between the screw 3 and the cutters to distribute the pressure evenly.
