Abstract

476,408. Two-part couplings. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. March 15, 1937, No. 7590. Convention date, March 14, 1936. [Class 38 (i)] In a lead-in for a cable 2 to a transformer or the like contained in an oil-filled casing 1, a capping insulator 8 carries a conductor 10 having a socket 9 adapted to receive the plug end 7 of the cable 2, contained in the terminal consisting of an insulator 3 and metallic cover. 4 welded to the cable sleeve. The terminal is fastened to an intermediate ring 11 by screws 12, the ring being attached to the casing 1. A fitting ring 15 carrying the capping insulator 8, is fastened to the ring 11 by screws 14. The space between the insulators 3 and 8 may be filled with oil or other insulating medium and when the oil is the same as that used in the apparatus a common conservator may be provided. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a lead-in, Fig. 2 (Cancelled), in which the cable terminal 3 is inserted in a chamber 20 fitted on the wall 1 of the electrical apparatus. A lead-through insulator 21 may be provided and chamber 20 filled with insulating medium. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
