[Class 104 (ii)] A metal sleeper is of inverted trough form at the middle a and ends b as shown in Figs. 4, 6, and of solid or tubular form under the rail chairs, as shown in Fig. 5, with a flat top c and stepped serrations c<1> on the under - side. The top c may have transverse grooves as shown on Fig. 2, to engage similar grooves on the underside of the rail chair.
