475,442. Synchronous dynamo-electric machines. TIMBERLAKE, E. J. Sept. 2, 1936, No. 24023. [Class 35] A synchronous machine is compounded by means of a field winding energized through a rectifier in parallel with a choke carrying the main current. In the form shown, the field winding F is energized partly from the commutator C on the main machine and partly through the rectifier V in parallel with the choke K in series with the slip rings S of the machine and resistances R, R1, R2, R3 may be provided. The winding energized through the rectifier and choke may, however, be an additional field winding.
