Abstract
475,052. Heating fluids by electricity. LITSTER, A. May 11, 1936, No. 13328. [Class 39 (iii)] In an electric heater of the kind comprising a container a provided with a heating resistance e and clamped between end members b mounted on a spindle c, the resistance e is enclosed in insulating cement which fills the space between the spindle and the container. The latter may be formed of fused silica or metal. The heater may be supported in a tubular housing by radial fins. Fluid to be heated flows through the housing under the control of a valve which may be connected to the variable heat switch controlling the resistance heater.
