Abstract

474,656. Hair curling appliances; combs. DEAN, J. D. Oct. 20, 1936, No. 28641. [Class 131] A combined hair curler and comb com prises a prong pivoted to the comb by means of two lug: 8 straddling the comb and forming a shroud in which is partly or wholly housed a leaf spring 11 secured at one end 12 to the prong or its operating tail 10 and bearing against the comb back 5 at 14. The end 12 of the spring is secured by passing it through holes in a bumped-in portion 13 of the prong and the spring is waved as shown to remove the stress from the anchoring point. The prong is of arcuate cross-section and is pivoted to the comb back by a screw or rivet 9, or the lugs 8 may have protuberances engaging depressions in the comb.
