[Class 135] A waste fitting for a bath, lavatory basin, sink or the like comprises a plug A on a guided rod B which is lifted against the action of a spring S by a lever C actuated by a chain W or other flexible connection, from a controlarm G with cam slot g. Where an overflow cavity O is not available to receive the chain W, a bell-crank lever is substituted for lever C and the chain is separately enclosed, Figs. 4, 6 (not shown).
