474,272. Shaping foot-arch supports &c. SCHOLL MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and NORRIS, G. THORNTON-. Oct. 7, 1936, No. 27218. [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] Stamping.-In fitting or shaping foot-arch supports or the like, means is provided rapidly to bring the shaping device and work to the operative position with a light pressure, and subsequently to apply more powerful pressing means. As shown, a die 15, which is interchangeable, is carried on a screw 5 and prevented from rotating by a head 14. The screw is traversed by a wheel nut 8, which may be rotated by a knurled surface 6 thereon or by means of a lever 13 and pawl and ratchet mechanism 12. The lever and ratchet wheel are mounted on a squared or hexagon shaped boss 11 so that by reverting the drive may be reversed for umclamping the work or the position of the lever arranged for short vertical strokes so as not to move the apparatus while operating.
