Abstract
473,919. Ironing-apparatus. CROFT, C. M., REA, D. B., and WALL, H. A. July 7, 1936, No. 18825. [Class 138 (ii)] [Also in Group XIII] In an ironing or drying apparatus for garments, laundry goods, and textile fabrics wherein a hollow " former " c communicates with a steam generator a, through a pipe b, which in Specification 452,437 forms the sole support for the " former," the " former " is partly supported by a stabilizing member which as in Fig. 1 may be a pivoted leg d or it may be a strut. Alternatively, two legs may be provided and the communication between generator and " former " may be a flexible pipe. In the form shown in Fig. 5 the steam supply pipe b passes through a tube h by which the " former " is swivelled on a small table i<2> whilst in Fig. 7 the steam pipe is bifurcated and each limb is connected to a " former " having a leg d.
